C-DAC holds seminar on IT career

PUNE, INDIA: Advanced Computing Training School, an educational institution run by C-DAC, held an Open Seminar on “Career Opportunities through C-DAC" for IT industry aspirants and the student community on Sunday at Pune university campus.

The seminar focused on how organizations like C-DAC are playing a vital role in harnessing the talent in India. The events witnessed the participation of more than 400 students and IT industry aspirants, said a press release.

The seminar covered presentations on advanced computing, mobile computing, graphics and animation, geo-informatics, embedded systems and language computing were delivered by the subject experts like Ajay Mittal, Founder and CEO of Geo Trackers, Sachin Walvekar of Tropical Cluster, Ganesh Khedkar, Faculty C-DAC Acts, Dr. Benidhar Deshmukh, Geoinformatic C-DAC and Ajai Kumar, Group Coordinator AAIG, C-DAC, it added.

Dr. Hemant Darbari, programme coordinator, ACTS, spoke about the journey and contribution of C-DAC to the IT industry in various fields like research and development and education and training.

“Global Recession is an opportunity for Indian software companies and engineers to excel,” Darbari added. Captain Pravin Singh Raghuvanshi, management consultant, C-DAC, threw light on Global IT scenario vis-à-vis the talent availability in India.

He added that the industry growth would happen at 22-23 per cent lower than the last two-three years when the booming IT industry posted a CGPA of 31 per cent. IT industry aspirants got the opportunity to interact with C-DAC alumni along with the industry experts like Alok Tiwari of Infosys and Rohit Tendulkar of AVAYA, said the release.
