Desktop VCS (PCA 810VC)
This is one of the largest selling Philips solutions for VC. A desktop model, the package
includes a camera, PCI card, telephone handset and software. With an integrated electronic
whiteboard one can interactively see, communicate and work on drawings, sketches and
designs. Another advantage of the desktop solution is that two individuals can share the
same program at different locations and hold meetings at the same time. It can work on
ISDN 128Kpbs and on LAN from 64Kbps up to 1024 Kbps over IP address. It can be upgraded to
3 BRI and to V.35 for making it compatible on VSAT. This implies that you can immediately
send and receive files, large or small, anywhere in the world. Apart from providing VC
facility, the software also gives fast access to surf the Internet via ISDN.
Price: Rs. 70-80,000 depending on accessories.
MatchView 230
Features: A standard VC solution. It uses the Plug-N-Play concept and has a color
video camera with one ISDN line. It is compact and portable.
Price: Rs. 2.7 lakh
MatchView 235
Features: A group system, which can be configured online while live VC is taking
place. It has 5 PIPS with three different sizes. It weighs the lightest in its category
with around 1.9kgs. Other features are similar to the MatchView 230 except that this has a
pan/tilt/zoom camera.
Price: Rs. 4.2 lakh
MatchView 330
Features: An enhanced group VC solution, this is an ideal system for face-to-face
business communication. Uses the Plug-N-Play concept to easily connect any size TV,
monitor, LCD projector or notebook. It includes a high quality PTZ camera and is
upgradable to 384Khps.
Price: Rs. 6.0 lakh
MatchView 430
Features: This solution answers the need of high-end group conferencing. Highly
flexible, it features dual monitor support for conducting larger group meeting, multiple
camera support, easy user interface and full interoperability with other standard-based
systems. It has a built-in 3BRI ISDN for 128, 256 and 384Kbps. It supports T.120, MS
NetMeeting for data/application sharing.

PictureTel
Live200
Again a very popular desktop VC system from PictureTel's stable. With the help of this
solution, PC users running Microsoft Windows 95 and Windows NT can conduct spontaneous
video meeting with users of any H.320-compliant VC system anywhere in the world. The
system gives users the ability to share windows-based applications with remote colleagues.
Other data collaboration tools include an electronic whiteboard with annotation tools,
file transfer and shared clipboard. The system also has ISDN support for high-speed access
to corporate networks, online services and Internet. It contains advanced features
including far-end camera control, snapshot, dual video inputs and dynamic data bandwidth
allocation. The solution includes board, camera, audio peripheral and software.
Price: Rs. 1.0-1.75 lakh.
SwiftSite II series
Features: Two products are available in this series-740 and 760. It is a fully integrated
VC system weighing less than 4.5 kgs. The basic requirements for these products are an
ISDN and LAN connection and an ordinary TV monitor. The 740 has a electronic pan-tilt-zoom
camera and suits the needs of a smaller room compared to the 760 which is the high-end
compact system for small to medium sized conference rooms.

Venue 2000
Features: Another group VC solution, it has two models30 and 50. The models use
PictureTel's 320 plus technology and enables to upgrade to 30 frames-per-second for more
lifelike motion handling. Both the models also use the PT724 Wideband Audio Algorithm to
deliver FM-like quality sound. They enable to share information using a variety of meeting
tools-document cameras, application sharing software and others.
Price: Rs. 11.6-18.0 lakh
Concorde 4500
Features: A group VC system, this is for demanding VC applications like
tele-medicine,
distance learning, executive conferences and other motion intensive applications. It
delivers FM-like quality through PictureTel's Virtuoso audio package and voice optimized
Bose speakers. It enables users to conduct multi-faceted meetings by supporting
voice-activated chair control, broadcast mode and WAN/LAN connectivity.
Price: Rs. 28.0-35.0 lakh
LAN/intranet system
Features: It can work over the LAN/intranet by providing broadcast-quality video
at speeds up to 30 frames per second. It operates over any network supporting TCP/IP
traffic, including Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, FDDI, Token Ring and Frame Relay.

Polycom
ViewStation
ViewStation from Polycom, according to the company is the first videoconferencing system
with an embedded web server and an integrated presentation system. The architecture allows
system management, diagnostic and software upgrades to be accessed anywhere, anytime. It
is also the first system to implement H.263 video compression algorithm that improves
video quality at 128Kbps.
ViewStation delivers 15 frames per second at 128Kpbs and 30 frames per second at
384Kbps/512Kbps. For presentation purposes, slides can be sent via the web from a locally
attached or remote PC, for display during a videoconference. The system supports full-dual
monitor functionality as a standard feature as well as VCR playback/record and a document
or second-room camera. It also supports high-resolution Annex D slide send and receive.
