Around 40-50 brokers gathered and tried to take forced entry in the office premises with the intent of damaging property, battering employees and disrupting work. The founders and some employees were verbally and physically assaulted by those brokers, said the company in a statement. The company later informed the police who came in and prevented the situation from getting worse.

This assault is an attempt to hamper the disruption that NoBroker is causing in the real estate market which is leading to huge savings for the customer and the pinch is felt by the brokers, claimed the company.

NoBroker connects flat owners and tenants directly with each other by eliminating the middleman. The property search portal claims to have 3 lakh user base and helping customers save more than 15 crores of brokerage every month across Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune and Chennai.

NoBroker has grown 10 times in past three months in terms of owner and tenant registration and it also raised Series-A funding of $ 3 million earlier this year. The portal was founded by IIT – IIM Ahmedabad graduates, Amit Kumar Agarwal and Akhil Gupta, and angel funded by Saurabh Garg, who also acts as a mentor.
