Brocade intros VDX 8770 switch

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Brocade has announced its switching platform, the Brocade VDX 8770 Switch together with VCS Fabric technology. This, the company said, would enhance datacenter efficiency and resilience.

The company has also introduced a new 124-port 10 Gbts module for the Brocade MLXe core router. Powered with SDN technology, this would enable network operators to scale their operations at significant levels.

Brocade SVP and CMO JohnMcHugh believes that virtualization and BYOD are changing the IT landscape. "Going forward, the quality, uptime and business capabilities will define organization's competitiveness," he said.

The next gen Brocade VDX platform, McHugh said, is scalable from 48 ports to 8,000 ports in a fabric and 384,000 virtual machines per chasis. "Its future proofed with 4Tbps per slot backplane," he added.

"Our key value prepositions that differentiate us from competitors include: innovation around networking, application relevance and investment in R&D activities," McHugh said. The company invests US$4.5 million in R&D.

KP Unikrishnan, director (marketing) Brocade India said that they are focusing on government, banking and telecom sector."Our go to market strategy is 100 per cent channels driven and we facilitate training for large accounts," Unikrishnan added.

Brocade has recently deployed their solutions in many cloud-oriented organizations in the BFSI and manufacturing industries in India.
