When 'Poor, you' becomes 'You're poor' or 'My desires' becomes 'My Lust', you are surely in need of a good translator. When professional or personal commitments take you to foreign shores, translation apps come in handy. But translation can often be awkward and embarrassing the above examples case in point.

So, here is Boomerang- a new iOS app that uses Google Translate to translate phrases in 104 different languages. But this is what any other app will do, isn't it? What distinguishes Boomerang from other similar apps is that after translating the desired sentence in a particular language, it then translates the phrasing back into the original language just to ensure that what you’re trying to say actually makes sense.CIOL Boomerang to save you from awkward translations

The app is created by indie app developer Ishmael Shabazz, and is free to download, but has ads; for an ad-free experience, you can pay a $1.99 annual subscription. Speaking to The Verge, Shabazz said that 'Google charges $20 for every million characters translated through Google Translate, so he’s basically wagering that the combination of ad revenue and subscription revenue will be higher than the translation expenses.'

Though Google's new technique, 'Google Neural Machine Translation' has been getting rave reviews for its much-improved translations using AI, Shabazz feels that his app surely has a market for some more time to come.

Well, we wish you luck for your venture.
