Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board - commonly known as the Shrine Board - in its efforts to increase facilities for devotees, has started the process of online ticket booking for the Vaishno Devi Yatra. Pilgrims can now book their yatras, room, helicopter and pooja online. The 'Online Yatra Parchi' can be obtained at Rs. 50.

What's more, the website also provides information on how to get there, do's and dont's while you're there, climatic considerations, facilities and pretty much everything else you would need to know.

All you need to do is register through their website on: http://bit.ly/Jr5u1U, log-in with your user name and password, provide the preferred date for the yatra, the room you prefer to stay in, etc. and click on the check availability button.

Located near the town of Katra in the Reasi district in Jammu and Kashmir, the Mata Vaishno Devi Mandir is considered to be one of the most sacred pilgrim centres in India. Hindus believe that Vaishno Devi Ma, also known as Mata Rani and Vaishnavi, is a mother who fulfills the wishes of her children.

More than one crore devotees visit the temple annually and pray for the well-being of their loved ones. The temple authorities said that there are over 35,000 pilgrims visiting the temple each day this year.
