HYDERABAD: The likes of Versace, Dolce & Gabbana and Pepe Jeans may pronounce dissimilar style statements. But when it comes to Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), they all get attired in BlueCherry.

The privately held Computer Generated Solutions (CGS), headquartered in New York, has been providing its ERP suite to some of the top apparel manufacturers and retailers in North America. It is also mulling over to launch the multi-platform ERP, which has modules like accounting, product life cycle management, warehouse and logistic management in India.

``BlueCherry is doing well in the North American market. This year we have seen 20 per cent growth. It is an end-to-end solution effective for the fashion industry. It has various modules like Product Life and features like Virtual ShowRoom that works as B2B,’’ says Michael Wilding, senior vice-president (Technology Solutions and Training), CGS.

PLM module creates product specifications and approval tracking consisting of cover sheet, turn-in sheet and product development sheet along with instructions by garment part. The Merchandise Planning System module enables a manufacturer to unify its retails, catalogue and Internet sales.

Through Virtual ShowRoom retailers can review open and shipped orders with their current status. Response to queries from buyers and sales representatives’ can be done online on a company’s web site.

``Virtual ShowRoom has features like catalogues, sales history such as order inquiry and order entry,’’ says Wilding.

BlueCherry caters to enterprise and mid-market businesses with the price in the range of $ 500,000 to 2000,000. CGS sells BlueCherry directly to its clients with no involvement of sales channels. It has also got integration with supply chain management and sales automation systems. It uses the Microsoft visual studio toolset.

CGS also has development centres in India and Canada. Presently some modules of BlueCherry are developed in CGS’ Hyderabad centre. The company also plans to launch BlueCherry in India.

``Though certain modules and maintenance are done in Hyderabad, we haven’t started selling it in India. We need to analyse the Indian market before the launch of BlueCherry in India,’’ says Wilding.

The company started its Indian operation in 2000. Wilding also said that the company is on the edge of getting the CMMI Level 4 certification.
