Big B offers his blog for Save Tiger campaign

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Beside lending his voice and face for Save Tiger campaign spearheaded by Aircel and NDTV, Amitabh Bachchan today requested Aircel to connect its website, Save Our Tiger, with his blog which receives thousands of hit in a day.

“I will be happy to lend my voice, face and all possible support for this noble cause. I would request Aircel to connect their website with my blog,” said the Bollywoood icon and superstar at a press conference here today.

Bachchan is the campaign ambassador for Aircel's ‘Save Our Tigers’ campaign. NDTV has also joined hands with Aircel in this campaign and they will bring forth a common agenda to save our tigers by providing a platform to tiger conservationists to raise issues and to concerned citizens to voice their opinions and contribute to the cause.

NDTV and Aircel have announced to hold consultation with various stakeholders and come with agenda of this campaign in a month's time.

“We are going to talk to experts and hold consultation across industry and various stakeholders who are connected to this issue. Once we are done with it, then we will start implementing. We expect to come out with the plan in the next three months' time,” said Vikram Chandra, CEO, NDTV Networks.

Aircel has agreed to set-up a hotline for this campaign so that people around sanctuaries can immediately put across information and issues related to tigers.

On using technology for this campaign, Ravi Singh, secretary general and CEO, WWF India mentioned that there are various technology available that can be used for the purpose but first people need to agree with Tiger Agenda that is yet to be designed.

“We can use various technology, like we can use GSM sim and telecom towers to locate tigers. We are talking to technology experts but it can be implemented once we bring these things in our agenda and people accept it,” said Singh.
