Bhaskar Silicon invests Rs 55bn in solar

HALDIA, (WEST BENGAL), INDIA: According to published reports, Bhaskar Silicon Ltd, a provider of solar products and integrated solar engineering solutions, has launched what is said to be the world's largest integrated solar power complex in Haldia, West Bengal, for an investment of Rs. 55 billion.

Jyoti Poddar, managing director of the company said: "We have already got 200 acre of land for the project. We have been able to identify Centrotherm Germany to tie up with us for setting up of the largest integrated polysilicon and solar manufacturing complex in the world at Haldia in West Bengal."

This plant will likely generate 250MW of solar power annually.
