With the acquisition Bharti Telesoft will now have a presence in 14 countries. “We foresee immense potential in the union of Bharti Telesoft’s and Jataayu’s offerings. The WAP, MMS and IMPS capabilities of Jataayu fit well with Bharti Telesoft’s messaging portfolio and will position us more favorably in the market by enhancing our offerings for the customer.

The handset applications business takes us into a new, rapidly developing, and very important area, which is set to change dramatically in the near future. As Jataayu is an established player in this space we can consolidate our position and build attractive propositions for this sector.

Overall, our customers are going to benefit from a wider portfolio of offerings and advanced R&D strength,” said Manoranjan Mohapatra, CEO, Bharti Telesoft. Post acquisition, Mahesh Jain, Jataayu’s managing director, will be in an advisory position. Jataayu’s current management team will continue to work within the combined company. There will be no changes to Bharti Telesoft’s Board of Directors.

“Jataayu has created strong technology focused products, acquired a wide customer base and has established a strong identity in the mobile VAS space over the last seven years. We believe these strengths will help Bharti Telesoft, already a leading player, become a formidable force in this rapidly growing space. This larger combined organization will also expose the people of Jataayu to greater opportunities that come with rapid growth and innovation,” said Jain.
