Bharti integrates brands under AirTel

NEW DELHI: Bharti Televentures has unveiled a unified brand strategy for all telecom services, with AirTel as the flagship brand. The company expects the unified brand strategy to make life simpler for the customers providing them with more choice, a larger distribution network, best value plans and unique bundling offers.





Under the AirTel brand, the company will offer a suite of telecom services and solutions ranging from wireless to fixed line, from data and broadband to long distance and enterprise services.





According to Bharti group marketing director, Hemant Sachdev, the company's unified brand strategy is pursuant to the coming in of the unified license regime and the company's high growth strategy to make life simple for its customers.





Enumerating the benefits of this strategy, he added, "The unified brand will result in cost efficiencies, economies of scale and quality advantages for Bharti while also making AirTel India's first truly integrated telecom service brand.





Under the new brand, Bharti's telecom services will be clubbed under four heads - mobile services, telephone and broadband services, long distance services and enterprise services.





Speaking on the occasion, Bharti Televentures joint MD, Rajan Mittal informed that the company which currently offers mobile services in 18 circles, expects the number to go up to 23 soon with plans to extend the footprint to Bihar, Orissa, Jammu & Kashmir and parts of the North-East by March 2005.





AirTel is also introducing the 'Family Celebration offer' for existing AirTel telephone services customers whereby, when they opt for a new AirTel mobile connection, they would not have to pay an activation fee or security deposit for the new AirTel mobile phone.





Under the friends and family offer, the telephone service customers can make a call to the new AirTel mobile phone and vice versa at 60 paise per minute.
