Bharti Infratel ties-up with IBM

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Bharti Infratel, the telecom passive infrastructure providing arm of Bharti Airtel, selected IBM for its Intelligent Site Operations.

IBM will cater to Bharti Infratel's 32,000 tower-sites spread across 11 telecom circles in the country.

IBM’s Intelligent Site Operations will provide Bharti Infratel real-time visibility and insight to centrally monitor and manage their tower infrastructure along with centrally orchestrating and tracking operations.

“The IBM solution has helped us automate the entire process and is helping in reducing costs and driving optimization besides proactively preventing service outages” said Prashant Veer Singh, chief information officer, Bharti Infratel.

“The green IBM Intelligent Site Operations solution for Bharti Infratel is widely recognized as a first of a kind solution for this industry, which enables Bharti Infratel and IBM to partner further and uncover more such opportunities around assets and processes of even greater environmental value,” said R. IBM Intelligent Site Operations also integrates third-party sensors and controllers with IBM Tivoli Netcool for network and service management; IBM Maximo for enterprise asset management; IBM Cognos for dashboards and analytics; and IBM ILOG.
