Bharti has 36.4 mn subscribers in Africa

BANGALORE, INDIA: Bharti Airtel, India's top mobile operator, said on Wednesday it has 36.4 million wireless subscribers in Africa.

It acquired Zain's African operations in June in a $9 billion deal.

Airtel expects to complete integration of these African assets by the end of 2010, according to Bharti chief executive for international operations Manoj Kohli.

Earlier it reported a 32 percent fall in quarterly net profit.
