BANGALORE: The Crown prince of Belgium, Prince Philippe and a delegation of Belgian companies would be visiting Bangalore on March 16 to seek ties with Indian companies in areas like IT, biotechnology and aerospace.

The Prince would be inaugurating the Bangalore facilities of Belgian based IT companies-Capco and Xsysys on March 16.

CEO of Xsysys Carl Dujardin announced an initiative called "Belinda" (a term combining Belgium and India) that would help catalyze partnerships between Belgian companies and Indian IT companies. "This will help small and medium IT companies with in linking companies with expertise in niche areas with Belgian companies," he added. He also hopes to build ties with Belgian and Indian IT companies.

IT services company Xsysys' parent company DeDuCo set up an offshore captive center in Bangalore in 1996, which employs 40 engineers working on CRM and related areas. The company's new 15,000 sq ft campus in Electronic city would be inaugurated March 16. Dujardin said that he plans to take the headcount to 200 engineers over the next couple of years.

He also informed that Xsysys is in a position to help companies find partnerships since it could leverage the company's outsourcing experience. He added that Belgium is a good gateway for Indian companies to tap the pan-European market because of its proximity to countries like Germany, France and the Netherlands.
