BANGALORE, INDIA: If you are an open source developer and have ever dreamt of attending an open source event anywhere in the world including accommodation for 1 week, then here is an opportunity to help build the future on Moblin.

Moblin, the Open Source Community initiated by Intel is giving developers in India an opportunity to build the future on Moblin.

The YourMove Contest on Moblin, invites developers to create localized applications for entertainment, information, and communications segment that push the envelope of creativity for open source development on Moblin core, Linux stack for MID devices.

Entrants must create an easily visualized description of their concept, by explaining the look and feel, why it is cool, and by describing how it will work and showing photos or jpegs representing how it may look, once it's developed.

The entries need to be poster at Moblin.org. The contest is open till July 31st, 2008. The judging will be based upon uniqueness, performance, usability, and cool-factor. The Moblin community will vote on the web to decide on the top 10 entries.

Top 10 winners will be announced on August 17th, 2008 @ Moblin.org. Local industry professionals will judge those top 10 selections and determine the grand prize winner by October 20th, 2008.

The grand prize recipient will receive 2 round-trip tickets to an open source event anywhere in the world, including accommodations for 1 week. The top 10 winners selected by the community votes will receive a MID device and USD $1,000.00 equivalent in the winner's local currency. The MID unit and contest money will be distributed by August 30th, 2008.

YourMove Contest applications must run on a MID device and must be developed using the Moblin SDK.
