The merger of Compaq with Hewlett Packard, announced in September last year, now awaits the final clearance of a Delaware, US court, where a case has been filed by son of co-founder against voting held in March. The decision of the judge is expected in the next couple of days.

The merger, if cleared, will result in HP emerging as the largest IT company in India with total revenues touching Rs 3,650 crore.

The two companies, in separate statements to the employees, said that the appointment "demonstrated the progress of our merger integration planning process and is further proof that we are on track with the launch phase of the merger plan."
