Bail hearing of Kani, 5 others adjourned

NEW DELHI, INDIA: The Delhi High Court today adjourned the bail plea of DMK MP Kanimozhi and five other accused till Monday.

Kanimozhi in her bail application said that she had no role in the scam and didn’t benefit from the 2G spectrum allocation.

The court said the bail to corporate honchos does not hold any ground for her plea. The CBI didn’t oppose it but has raised questions over the bail to former telecom secretary Siddharth Behura.

Besides Kanimozhi, those who applied for bail include Cineyug Films director Karim Morani, Kalignar TV MD Sharad Kumar, former telecom secretary Siddharth Behura and directors of Kusegaon Fruits and Vegetables Asif Balwa and Rajeev B Agarwal.

Earlier this week, the Supreme Court had granted bail to five telcos honchos co-accused in the 2G spectrum allocation scam. The five of the 14 accused who got bail are Sanjay Chandra of Unitech Wireless, Vinod Goenka of Swan Telecom as well as Reliance Group's Gautam Doshi, Surendra Pipara and Hari Nayar.
