Avnet brings Xilinx Spartan-6 FPGA DSP dvpt kit

BANGALORE, INDIA: Avnet Electronics Marketing has announced that it is offering a Xilinx Spartan-6 FPGA DSP development kit for $1,995 – including a device-locked version of Xilinx ISE Design Suite: System Edition 11.4.

In a statement, Avnet Electronics Marketing said that the Spartan-6 DSP development kit provides an easy entry point for using FPGAs for DSP. The kit, the company added, is targeted at wireless, aerospace and defense, ISM and other computationally intensive applications which require DSP performance and cost-effective solutions.

The development kit combines a scalable development board, DSP IP, DSP development tools and a pre-configured and fully validated Spartan-6 DSP targeted reference design. This design acts as a basis to illustrate DSP techniques and design flows for the Spartan-6 class of signal processing functions, Avnet Electronics Marketing said.

The Spartan-6 DSP targeted reference design includes design source files for top-level system integration RTL source files, RTL and Simulink, testbenches, a simulation environment, an implementation environment, as well as complete steps and parameters for design synthesis and other components.
