"With the constructional sector looking up in the recent times, we expect the latest version of Revit, 5.1 to be well accepted in the market. India belongs to the South Asian Pacific Countries, which is one of the fastest growing contributors for our company," said Yoshiko Bannai, Sales Development Director, BID and Buzzsaw, Autodesk for the Asia Pacific region.

The compatibility of Revit 5.1 with Autodesk’s family of products 2004 is also one of major feature the company is using as its USP in the market. This would increase the RoI for companies planning to upgrade. Autodesk is also planning to introduce an annual subscription program, whereby all upgrades are informed to the customer-better preparing them for the new release.

The buzz on the much-touted Autodesk’s Buzzsaw front is beginning to become louder in India, as the company has beginning to receive enquiries. However the names of the prospective clients were not released. "Buzzsaw is indeed making inroads in India. After almost a year of the release of the ASP model based solution, enterprises are looking up to reap the benefits of the solution. The primary reason of the concept not entering India was the issue of high-speed boradband connectivity. With the penetration of broadband in to the corporate sector, Buzzsaw would soon have an Indian customer," added Bannai.

The Buzzsaw presently has 64,000 users spread across 600 customers located around the globe. Over two million files have been transferred so far in the Cable and Wireless server situated in California.

Apart from Buzzsaw and Revit 5.1, Autodesk also plans to soon launch its solution for the Mechanical sector code-named `Inventor’ and for the infrastructure segment, code-named Vine.
