OHIO: Diebold, a player in self-service delivery systems, security, software and services for the financial, government, commercial and retail markets, would be implementing Lean Six Sigma initiatives across its organization to improve business process management ( BPM ).
It has chosen Savvion for the project. While other commercially available tools have helped Diebold map processes, the company needed to perform simulations and model costs. “We required a fast method to model, simulate, develop, and launch electronic workflows,” said Mike Hinnebusch, manager with Diebold’s Transformation Management group, which is responsible for business process re-engineering.
“We also needed to put easy-to-use BPM design tools in the hands of the process owners and subject matter experts, plus management needed real-time process metrics for critical customer-facing processes,” said Hinnebusch. “After evaluating available solutions, we chose Savvion as our tool for process improvement and process management to model, simulate, and deploy Lean Six Sigma.
” Diebold has started working with Savvion’s process modeler to create a quality alert process that reduces the response time and improves the communication of quality improvement opportunities.
We are very pleased to have a more standard process and improved metrics so we can better focus on our customers,” said Hinnebusch.
