ATI Technologies to acquire Hyderabad co

PUNE: ATI Technologies Inc., a 3D graphics and digital media silicon solutions company, is acquiring a company in India at Hyderabad. Declining to divulge details, country manager for the Indian sub-continent Suki Matharu said that the company's aim is a built a presence in India. "This facility currently has around 71 people and will function as a R&D center. The processes should be complete in another two months," he added. The Hyderabad center will focus on developing chipsets for high-definition television sets.

Matharu was in Pune for the roadshow organized to showcase products of ATI Technologies in association with one of its partners Micro Star International Co (MSI). Describing India as a promising market, Matharu said that roadshows were meant to build awareness regarding the high-end products brought out for gamers by the company.

"We are launching the Xpress 200 and RadeonX850- a high-end graphics processor. For the gamer who is looking for the ultimate in performance, the new RADEON X850 XT Platinum Edition, RADEON X850 XT and RADEON X850 PRO products are a dream come true. The processing capabilities of the 16 pixel pipe and 6-vertex engine architecture mean that gamers can power through realistic environments with more speed and power than ever before," he detailed.

ATI also announced its new generation chipset technology, RADEON XPRESS 200 Series, an integrated PCI Express chipset for the complete range of AMD Athlon 64, AMD Athlon 64 FX, and AMD Sempron processors for the Indian market.

Matharu said that the company is looking at holding more such roadshows with their partners in India soon.
