Asus Android FonePad in India on April 24; may cost Rs 15,000+

BANGALORE, INDIA: Two months after unveiling it, Taiwanese tech company Asus is launching its 7-inch Android tablet- FonePad in India on April 24, according to Zee News.

Asus' first Android tablet that runs on Intel processor is powered by Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. What sets it apart is its voice-calling and 3G data connectivity features. It is expected to be priced around Rs 15,500, according to the report.

FonePad has a smooth metal back (available in gray and gold), making it drastically different in appearance from the similarly sized Nexus 7. There is a panel where all the usual antennae are, and hidden underneath are both the micro-SIM slot and the microSD reader.
