Aptech, HelpAge join to make elders net-savvy

MUMBAI: To commemorate World Elders' Day (on October 1) announced by the United Nations, Aptech Computer Education has tied-up with leading NGO for the elderly, HelpAge India to offer basic literacy course, 'Vidya' to the elderly. Aptech will donate part of the proceeds from the course for the destitute elderly as part of its contribution towards the World Elders' Day.







Aptech global marketing head Sudhir Mathur said, "By undertaking this course, they would be in a position to keep in touch with their loved ones through e-mail, use Internet and learn MS Office. Aptech's 'Vidya' has already trained over 3.5 lakh students, and includes modules on MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, E-mail, computer fundamentals, etc."







Said HelpAge India director general Major General IS Dhillon, "I am delighted to announce a tie-up with Aptech for a unique initiative to celebrate World Elders' Day, on October 1. This will enable IT awareness among elders, which they will be able to leverage to better their lives. Additionally, Aptech will contribute towards the aid of the destitute elders, through HelpAge India, which will go a long way in putting smiles back on the faces of the elderly."
