Aptech announces 25 per cent dividend

MUMBAI, INDIA: Aptech Ltd, a career education and training company, on Tuesday  announced its operating results for the fourth quarter and financial year ended March 31, 2011.

With a 25 per cent dividend, operating income for the year was 1,907.50 million as against 1,576.43 million in the previous financial year, representing a growth of 21.0 per cent.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) for the year was `569.67 million, growth of 155.0 per cent over previous financial year and profit before tax (PBT) was `434.43 million, representing a growth of 548.1 per cent vis-à-vis previous year.

Recorded profit after tax (PAT) was `449.79 million in comparison with a loss of `223.51 million in FY2010.

The Board has recommended a dividend of 25 per cent on the face value of the equity shares.

“In the recent years, the demand for career education and specialized courses has been steadily on the rise due to the growing emphasis on professional and skill-based knowledge. Our performance this quarter has been positive and this is evident from our result which was announced on Tuesday,” said Ninad Karpe, managing director and chief executive officer, Aptech Limited.

He added that the year gone by has seen the company consolidate its position as a global education and training services company having reached over 40 countries with over 1300 centers till now.
