The Apple iPhone 5 India launch date was confirmed by Ingram Micro, one of Apple's partners. The announcement said ''Ingram Micro will offer iPhone 5 at leading modern trade stores and retail outlets across India beginning Friday, November 2. For more information on availability details please visit www.imonline.co.in. For more information on iPhone 5, please visit www.apple.com/in/iphone.''

Although, the website still displays that iPhone 5 is ''coming soon''. Bharti Airtel is taking pre-orders for iPhone 5 as well. However, according to a report on Business Standard, Apple iPhone 5 has been completely pre-booked and only those who have already ordered for it will be able to lay their hands on the device today.

The report, quoting a sales executive with a leading Apple retailer, says ''All iPhone 5 that are hitting the shelf tomorrow have been pre-booked. Customers can pre-book the device by paying Rs 5,000 and the delivery time will be 15 days.''

Reports also say that this time Apple is planning to make iPhone 5 available even in small towns in India. ''Apple will begin selling the iPhone through specialized distribution companies in an attempt to reach a wider audience, especially Indians who live in thousands of smaller towns,'' said a report on Wall Street Journal.

Apple's other distribution partner Redington has confirmed the iPhone 5 will cost Rs. 45,500 for 16GB variant, Rs. 52,500 for 32GB and Rs. 59,500 for 64GB, which is similar to the iPhone 4S prices.

Although Indians are mostly excited about owning an iPhone 5, one concern some have around the device is the presence of a nano-SIM. That said, nano-SIM can apparently be created out of a regular SIM.
