Advertisment

Apple in its security document for version 10.6.4 has said that Flash Player plug-in has caused multiple vulnerabilities and recommended updating the Flash Player plug-in to version 10.0.45.2

However, a blog posted on the website of Adobe.com By Wendy Poland said that this update included an earlier version of Adobe Flash Player (version 10.0.45.2) than available from Adobe.com.

It added, “While the Mac OS X v10.6.4 update does not appear to downgrade users who have already upgraded to Adobe Flash Player 10.1, Adobe recommends users verify they are using the latest, most secure version of Flash Player (10.1.53.64)”

Adobe recommended that users of Mac OS X v10.6.4 verify Adobe Flash Player version number installed on their systems, after applying the Mac OS X security update. Then access the About Flash Player page, or right-click on content running in Flash Player and select "About Adobe Flash Player" from the menu. Users of multiple browsers need to perform the check for each browser installed on the system.
