It has outlined pharma, retail and wireless as new focus areas and acquisitions in these areas are quite probable.

Sashi Reddi, chairman and CEO, AppLabs said, "The testing market is fragmented and to be in the top league we need to fill in unplugged spaces like FDA compliance in Pharma and the applications-cum-gaming side for mobile phones. Retail is also our new vertical focus. The opportunities are huge and we need to pick and choose carefully if we take the inorganic route."

He added that the company would add one significant vertical each year. The company is also upping its headcount by 1000 people this year consequent to which it will add another development center besides Hyderabad.

"We have shortlisted on Pune and a two-tier city for the same," he said.
