Cube26, has launched a smart bulb powered by Texas Instruments microprocessor and Toshiba LED—the company's first smart device in the IoT category.

Named IOTA Lite, the app-enabled bulb is compatible with devices running on Android version 4.0+ and 5+, and has a lifespan of 15,000 hours.

If consumes 7W and offers 500 lumens of brightness. Powered by Bluetooth 4.0, it connects into an existing light fixture without the need for a hub or extra hardware. An intuitive and seamless system, IOTA Lite’s firmware is upgradeable.

Key features include weather alert, call or SMS alert, music sync and present modes.

"Users can adjust the brightness of Lite using their smart phone. IOTA Lite uses LED technology which consumes one tenth the energy of a traditional bulb, and users can remotely control up to 7 bulbs with one app directly from their smart phone without a bridge," said Saurav Kumar, CEO & Co-Founder, Cube26.

Priced at Rs 1,899, the bulb is available on Flipkart.
