Apalya eyes APAC, Middle-East

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Hyderabad-based value-added service provider, Apalya Technologies plans to expand its operations in Asia-Pacific and Middle-East.

The company has introduced the Mobile TV and video-on-demand (VoD) based on the progressive play technology.

Speaking to CyberMedia News, B Vamshi Reddy, director, Apalya Technologies, said, “they are planning to make their presence in most of the Asia Pacific countries and Middle-East. We are planning for the expansion in the fourth quarter. Currently we are mainly focusing in the telecom space in India”

The company has introduced the VoD service on the Idea Cellular network. The ‘progressive play technology’ runs on the 2G as well as 2.5G networks, Reddy informed.

“We are the pioneers of this technology of VoD and is commercially available for Idea Cellular customers now. It is a live streaming through GPRS and subscribers can enjoy uninterrupted streaming of the TV channels,” Reddy said. The company is currently ready to offer services in the GSM space.

The company is also in talks with the major service providers in launching this service, on a subscription basis.
