BANGALORE: Computer Aided Engineering software and technologies provider
Ansys, Inc. opened its wholly owned subsidiary in Bangalore, christened Ansys
Software Private Limited on Thursday. The move is to offer direct technical
support for its clients in India. It plans to open a branch office in Chennai
and appoint channel partners across the country to increase its sales.
After existing in India through two distributors, Raja Infotech and NIIT,
Ansys, Inc. bought over Raja Infotech on October 16 to be officially present in
the country. NIIT continues to be its distributor and business partner.
Headquartered in Bangalore, the company has opened three branch offices in
the country -- Hyderabad, Pune and New Delhi. Operating as Raja Infotech
earlier, Ansys hopes to end the calendar year with $1.6 million in sales and
expects to grow by 25 per cent in sales next year.
"The market for CAE and simulations software is growing exponentially
well in this period of recession with the defence, automobiles, technology
companies investing in this technology," said, Ansys Software India’s
managing director, N. Venkatesh.
The Indian operation currently has about 27 employees in its roll with sales
to technical employee ratio being 1:3. It plans to strengthen it technical team
by the end of the year.
Ansys India also has a wholly owned development center in Pune, Matrix CFD.
An investment made three years ago, Matrix is involved in the development of
Ansys’ ICEM-CFD engineering products. Apart from this the company’s other
products include DesignSpace and AI Solutions.
