"We don't have a date for Ice Cream Sandwich at present, but we are investigating it and will communicate that as and when," Paul Hicks, the product manager at Toshiba UK in charge of the tablet range, was quoted as saying.

The AT200 currently features Android 3.2 and was released as a Carphone Warehouse exclusive in February. Toshiba sells it terming the thinnest and lightest 10.1-inch tablet on the market.

There are indications that no plan is on to supply the device to any other retailers, but for Carphone Warehouse.

"The AT200 is exclusive in Carphone Warehouse in the UK right now. And I anticipate that the volume will continue to go into Carphone Warehouse," Hicks had said.

Toshiba does plan to release more tablet devices in 2012, according to Pocket-lint, in a variety of screen sizes and is even looking at different operating systems.
