CIOL An on-demand startup for 'emergency' supplies like hangover remedies and more

It's Monday morning and so many of you may have felt that you need to dial this startup. Alas, only if it was here in India. This on-demand startup, Jetpack for 'emergency' supplies like hangover remedies and energy drinks is currently up on Stanford campus courtesy Fatima Dicko, a graduate student at Stanford University.

The startup caters to situations where a person just needs a sample size of something and the not the entire pack of medicine or drink which they probably have loads back home. “It’s not that they completely ran out of these things, but they’re in a situation where they just need a sample size,” Jetpack founder and CEO Fatima Dicko told TechCrunch.

Presently, 15 items are available for on-demand delivery, and each item costs anywhere from $1-$5. There are 100 students on campus equipped with Jetpack bags, ready to supply people with anything from energy drinks to cold medicines to hangover cures.

There is a standard weekly fee that Jetpackers receive for selling a certain percentage of the products. Down the road, the goal is to expand Jetpack into cities and sell themed kits, which will cost between five to $10.

Going forward, Dicko says she aims at “understanding the interactions between people and understanding how helping other people can solve different psychological gaps people have.” “If someone needs to freshen up with deodorant, it’s not only about that but the psychological gap about comfort."

We wish to see a similar startup coming up here soon.
