Ambarish Deshpande to drive McAfee's channel biz

MUMBAI, INDIA: Security technology company McAfee India Sales Pvt. Ltd. today announced the appointment of Ambarish Deshpande as director – Alliances, Channels and Mid Market for South Asia.

In this role, he will be responsible for driving McAfee’s mid-market business and strengthening the company’s relationships with its partners in South Asia, said a press release.

Announcing the appointment, Wahab Yusoff, vice president – South Asia, said Ambarish would be able to strengthen the channel relationships of the company and deliver on its strong commitment to its mid-market customers in South Asia.

“As the world’s largest dedicated security vendor, McAfee has been looking at strategically increasing market share in the South Asian security market with its commitment to providing end-to-end information security solutions for its customers,” he said.

“The information security industry has displayed stable growth during recession times. McAfee, with its focus on information security, is uniquely positioned to lead this segment in the years to come. I am excited to be part of this growth story as it unfolds,” said Ambarish Deshpande.

A veteran of 15 years in the security industry, Ambarish joins McAfee from IronPort Systems, a Cisco business unit, where he was the country manager responsible for growing its business in India. Prior to that, he was heading Symantec’s channel sales in India and he has also worked at Tech Pacific Technologies, an Ingram Micro company.
