Amazon software centre in Chennai soon

MUMBAI: Amazon.com, Inc., today announced that it would open a software development centre in Chennai to focus on developing new and innovative website features to help its customers around the world find and discover anything they would want to buy online.

The Amazon Development Centre in Chennai will manage all technology aspects of the website features developed there. The ownership aspect includes idea generation, analysis and technical design, and front, middle and back-tier software development across a variety of architectures and technologies.

Chennai will be the fourth Amazon.com international software development center after Edinburgh, Scotland and Cape Town.
