In January, Amazon India quietly launched a new service- 'Local Finds' that allows consumers to buy and sell old/used goods from people around them. The service that works a lot like OLX and Quikr is now being expanded to three more cities- Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Chennai, apart from Bangalore, according to an Economic Times report.

Speaking to the publication,  Mahendra Nerurkar, director of new initiatives at Amazon India said that customer-to-customer is a global program that has been launched in India with some tweaks. Firstly, in India, the company provides holistic service that includes packaging, shipping, doorstep inspection for the buyer, among others.

Also, to aid easy deliveries, the search results are restricted to within the city. "The Local Finds section has so far seen 30,000 transactions and at any given time, the platform has 15,000 to 20,000 live listings for a city like Bangalore," added Nerurkar.

The C2C sale platform was launched with books but now includes other popular categories like video games, music vinyl records, movies, and electronic products too.
