TAIWAN, CHINA: ALT, the top manufacturer and brand in commercial and industrial LED lighting, announced that its A55 bulb light, which had obtained Energy Star certification for 6,000 hours, has yet again received the Energy Star certification, this time for 10,000 hours.

Since LEDs typically experience lumen depreciation instead of burning out, LED product lifetime is set based on a prediction of when the light output decreases 30 percent. One of the most crucial factors for lumen depreciation of LED lighting systems is thermal management.

The power generates heat into the LED product, and therefore, the better the LED lighting system is able to transfer the heat, the longer the lifespan of that product. Energy Star certification ensures the certified product's light output is properly maintained through the end of its rated life.

ALTLED products are distinguished by Glacier Edge technology, where pure aluminum fins are designed for greater heat dissipation area. This patented heat sink technology ensures heat is effectively released into the air, enabling product stability, optimal performance and longer lifespan. Because heat is effectively managed, ALTLED products are able to deliver much better results than competitor products.

As a charter partner in the Energy Star program, ALT continues to promote its environmental stewardship, innovative product designs, and the most extensive line of energy-saving retrofit LED lighting. The strict standards of Energy Star for the allowed lumen and CCT degradation over a period of 6,000 hours of continuous testing are 8 percent.

Earlier this year, ALT sent ten ALTLED omni-directional A55s to Energy Star contracted laboratories to be tested for continuous light on of 6,000 hours. ALT passed this standard with zero lumen decay. The same ten ALTLED A55 bulbs were then continuously lit on for another 4,000 hours, totaling 10,000 hours to check their lumen degradation. The results showed that ALTLED products sustained lumen maintenance of up to 99.8 percent.

ALT CEO James Liang states that LED products should be reducing carbon emission, but if the products do not perform as long as they are labeled or expected, then they are as good as waste. ALT insists on producing only the best quality, and through renowned third parties such as Energy Star, ALTLED products are able to present its finest workmanship and technology to businesses, organizations and consumers.
