MUMBAI, INDIA:Altec Lansing has introduced Expressionist BASS desktop 2.2 speaker system.

It is a two-piece PC speaker set, housing dual down firing, radiating subwoofers built into each base—designed for digital entertainment enthusiasts, seeking optimal performance plus inspired design. Expressionist BASS contains subwoofers within the system’s freestanding, cone-shaped body.

Additionally, its cone-shaped architecture adds significant acoustic value to the speaker system. The rounded body decreases harsh edge diffractions, which can typically ‘color’ audio to the listener's ear.

“The evolution of digital music and media has dramatically increased PC-centric playback, so Altec Lansing engineered this integrated system to audibly and aesthetically complement the desktop,” said Vicki Marion, President, Altec Lansing.

The platform of the Expressionist BASS is designed to radiate sound off hard surfaces and reflect audio in a 360-degree field. 100mm long-throw subwoofers are built into the base of each speaker. Engineered with two 1.5-in (40mm) drivers, mid and high frequencies are compartmentalized so vocals and details come through with total clarity.

The Expressionist BASS speaker system also features an auxiliary input to provide convenient connection to any MP3, CD and DVD player.

Pricing and availability: Altec Lansing Expressionist BASS (FX3022) system will be available at an estimated street price of Rs 5,490 through its national distributor Rashi Peripherals and its 53 branches spread all across India.
