The new device packs all the fidelity and impact of a seven-speaker surround system into a beautifully designed single unit with a mere 15-inch footprint.

According to Ike S. Franco, managing partner: "Our new SoundBar is emblematic of the reputation for innovation and advanced thinking that Altec established more than eighty years ago. We were the first company to design and install sound systems in movie theaters, and we are replicating that level of sound quality in an affordable consumer product."

Altec has long been a favorite among audio professionals, providing the sound system at Woodstock and recording systems for iconic rock bands, including the Beatles.

"We are immensely proud of our legacy, but we are focused on the future," said Franco. "People live their lives on the go, and they want their sound to move with them. Altec is addressing this head on by making mobile sound that doesn't compromise on quality."

Altec will give the public its first look at this new lineup of products at January's CES and will continue to showcase them throughout the first quarter of 2014. Each will embody the company's core commitment to sound quality. Altec's adoption of a newer and more efficient Bluetooth encoding system, StereoSync which can turn two Altec speakers into a two-channel system, advances in 3D sound, and headphone audio/video production honor a legacy of innovation. This new generation of products is designed to let today's consumer enjoy the very best in sound quality at an affordable price.

The new lineup also demonstrates Altec's commitment to expanding its traditional focus on professional audio equipment to include portable Bluetooth, multimedia, home entertainment, TVs, in-ear monitors, smartphones and tablets. Altec will support its new devices with a far broader assortment of accessories, including covers, tempered glass sheets, portable tablet keyboards and chargers.

"Altec has been an audiophile brand for decades," said Melissa Bergson, Director of Licensing. "Our new offerings message the larger community that sound is more than something that comes from an output jack. We want people to know that sound quality does make a difference, and that Altec's products provide the best listening experience at home or on the go."
