BANGALORE: Alopa Networks, integrated broadband subscriber solutions and
operational support systems (OSS) applications provider, will have it’s
MetaServ Provisioning platform, deployed in Alaska by GCI, which is Alaska's
largest broadband service provider.
GCI has selected Alopa’s MetaServ to automate the provisioning of Internet
services on both their existing proprietary Com21 equipment as well as their
next generation DOCSIS 1.1 hardware from Cadant.
"Alopa's MetaServ was the best solution that addressed both our existing
DOCSIS 1.1 needs and provided a clear path for our future plans as well."
said GCI vice president of Internet Services, Terry Nidiffer. "We were very
impressed not only at the depth of the technology, but also in the response that
we received from Alopa. We required very short timelines and Alopa has risen to
the challenge. We look forward to a long and promising relationship with
Alopa."
"GCI has played a vital leadership role in the development of broadband
delivery in Alaska", said Alopa Networks, managing director and vice
president for engineering, Vijaya Verma. "With their aggressive plans for
growth, and the highest penetration rate in the industry, GCI supports more than
20,000 internet subscribers. This deployment serves to validate not only the
efficacy of our product and future-proof architecture of our technology but also
the ease with which our solution can be deployed and integrated into the
existing infrastructure."
