Alliance for grid modernisation by EnerNex

KNOXVILLE, US: EnerNex, a player in electric power research, engineering, and consulting, announced that they have forged a strategic alliance with Paul De Martini of Newport Consulting Group, focusing on the development and management of advanced technology for grid modernization and customer engagement.

EnerNex, known for their strong tactical experience in the North American market, will join with Newport’s strong strategic and business operational experience globally, says a release.

It adds that Paul De Martini, Managing Director of Newport, has an extensive background in successfully managing technology development, deployment and operations in a range of utility and energy services businesses. He is an industry leader shaping the vision and direction of grid modernization through his work with the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), the Smart Grid Interoperability Panel (SGIP), Caltech, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), European Commission’s 2035 Strategic Research Advisory, and other organizations worldwide.“I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with Paul for several years, one of Smart Grid’s most well-known pioneers. I’m excited to join forces with Paul to address the many challenges facing the utility industry as we implement modern grid technologies and update the business processes necessary to support them,” said Erich Gunther, EnerNex co-founder, chief technology officer.

Both firms claim to have highly experienced, internationally recognized experts in their respective fields ranging from designing, engineering, implementing, to analyzing field deployments of equipment and systems. In addition, alliance personnel have leadership positions in most relevant technology, research, and electric power related international standards organizations and industry consortia.
