Alcatel elevates Sean Dolan as president

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Alcatel-Lucent, a provider in telecommunication services, today announced the appointment of Sean Dolan as president of the Asia-Pacific region.

He would replace Etienne Fouques, who has decided to retire early next year. Prior to this position Sean worked as chief operating officer with Alcatel, Asia Pacific region, said a press release.

Sean would be a member of the company’s management committee and would be based in Shanghai.

Ben Verwaayen, CEO, Alcatel-Lucent, said, “I first would like to thank Etienne for his over 30 years of service to Alcatel-Lucent. His contributions, knowledge and commitment have played a key role in our history and we wish him every success in the future.”

“Sean’s experience and understanding of the APAC region, our customers and market opportunities are critical to achieving business success in this part of the world,” he added

The company also announced the appointment of Rajeev Singh-Molares as senior vice president, Strategy and corporate development. He would join the company early January 2009 and would report to Ben Verwaayen, chief executive officer, Alcatel-Lucent, the release said.

“I am very pleased to welcome Rajeev in our company. He is a very well regarded professional in the industry and he should help us staying at the forefront of the customer commitment. Rajeev has a comprehensive knowledge of our industry,” Ben said.

Prior to joining Alcatel Rajiv was associated with Monitor Group where he was a senior partner and was responsible for developing and managing client relationships in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
