Aksh Optifibre to invest Rs 150 cr in IPTV biz

NEW DELHI, INDIA: With its eyes set on six-digit subscriber base by this year end, IPTV provider Aksh Optifibre Limited said it is planning to invest Rs 150 crore in the IPTV business over the next three years.

“We have already invested Rs 150 crore in this business so far. In the next three years we will invest another Rs 150 crore to ramp up our business,” said Dr K.S. Choudhari, managing director, Aksh Optifibre, while addressing a media conference here today.

Today, Aksh Optifibre and MTNL’s IPTV service iControl, which has a subscriber base of over 30,000, also announced the plans to strengthen their operations in Delhi. iControl expands its partner ecosystem by bringing onboard channel partners.

Aksh said iControl provides an opportunity for people who are looking to invest in new and promising business.

After making the announcement K.S. Choudhari said the company's brand philosophy is to provide ubiquitous technology at economical prices and iControl reflects the same philosophy.

“Through this association with channel partners we have taken yet another step towards making iControl a household name. Aksh Optifibre believes in expanding mediums of entertainment and education through our breakthrough technology of IPTV service,” he said.

Currently, the service is available in Delhi, Mumbai and also the cities of Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
