Airtel launches hosted mail for SMBs

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Bharti Airtel, a telecom service provider today announced that it has launched a corporate mailing solution, ‘Airtel Hosted Mail’ - powered by Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 for for SMBs across the country.

This would offer SMBs a enterprise grade mailing solution with an inbox as big as 4 GB, said a press release.

Airtel Hosted Mail offers a wide range of communication tools than conventional email solutions – enabling the SMBs to share email messages, contacts, calendars, work folders, task list and documents from either their PC or mobile phone.

“Continuing our commitment to meet the digital needs of the Indian SMB customer, we are pleased to share another productivity tool with the Airtel Hosted Mail, in partnership with Microsoft. We are confident that our SMB customers across the country will appreciate the affordability, robustness and convenience of this solution over the conventional solutions they are currently using," said K. Srinivas, joint president, Telemedia Services, Bharti Airtel.

Commenting on the partnership, Rajan Anandan, managing director, Microsoft India said, “We believe that an amalgamation of software plus services delivered through the internet can deliver great value to enterprises - thus making owning and managing IT infrastructure more affordable and convenient.”

Airtel Hosted Mail – powered by Microsoft Exchange 2007 will be available in 2 versions, which include Pro Mail at Rs. 80 per user/ month and Business Mail at Rs. 220 per user/ month, said the release.

Pro Mail offers an Inbox of 2 GB with an attachment limit of 10 MB, built-in proven Anti-spam and Anti-virus security along with Search service through mail content, contacts and even attachments.

The Business Mail offers an Inbox of 4 GB with attachment limit of 20 MB, Mobile and Offline access, built-in proven Anti-spam and Anti-virus security along with Search service through search through mail content, contacts and even attachments.

In addition, a basic version of Airtel Hosted Mail – powered by Nivio Web Mail also would be available, added the release.

The Basic Mail at Rs. 25 per user/ month offers an Inbox of 1 GB with attachment limit of 10 MB, built-in proven anti-spam and anti-virus security.
