Airtel brings new service for broadband customers

BANGALORE,INDIA: Telecom Major, Bharti Airtel Limited, announced on Friday the launch of its innovative ‘Speed-on- Demand’ service for its broadband customers in South.

‘Speed on Demand’ is an innovative offering that enables Airtel broadband customers to upgrade their broadband speed for a select duration and pay for only that usage, said a press release.

The ‘Pay as You Use’ model allows customers the flexibility of enjoying high speed broadband to access applications like gaming, downloading movies etc without changing their current plan, the release added. It access speed up to 2 MBPS without change in current tariff plan, it said.

Shamik Das, CEO-South, Airtel Telemedia Services, Bharti Airtel Ltd, said “Airtel Telemedia always ensures that our customers get the best value and enjoy the finest services and benefit from our innovative offerings.”

“Speed on Demand is one more of our revolutionary services. We have set up a fully automated online process that delivers bandwidth upgradation as and when required to our Telemedia customers,” he added.

It features four different broadband speed options:

1) Broadband speed of 256 KBPS at Rs. 25/- per hour

2) Broadband speed of 512 KBPS at Rs. 40/- per hour

3) Broadband speed of 1024 KBPS at Rs. 75/- per hour

4) Broadband speed of 2048 KBPS at Rs. 120/- per hour

It would also provide a speed up to 2 MBPS without change in current tariff plan, the release added.
