CHENNAI: Taiwan-based Agnitio Science & Technology bagged the Frost &
Sullivan (F&S) 2005 Technology Innovation Award for its BioICT and LabIT
technology suite.
The award will be conferred on Thursday at the fourth BioBusiness Asia (BBA)
conference at Taipei, Taiwan. BBA is an annual biotech investment events in
Asia Pacific.
The F&S award for technology innovation is given to companies demonstrating
technological superiority within its industry.
Agnitio integrates information technology and novel precision manufacturing
processes to provide automated and compact immunoassay diagnostic testing
kits on a chip, F&S said in a press release.
Agnitio's BioICT is a microfluidic technology based on the principle of
micro total analysis system (µ-TAS). This technology platform can automate
liquid handling and protein- and DNA-based detection.
It has the potential to detect infectious and gastric diseases and screening
for drug abuse, diabetes, allergy and cancer, F&S said.
