ACL Wireless rolls out WIM 2.0

BANGALORE: ACL Wireless Limited has released the latest version, 2.0, of its

flagship product ACL wireless instant messenger and presence application. From

its earlier version of ACL WIM 1.61, the latest version is a major upgrade in

terms of underneath software technology, usability and expanse of features for a

mobile phone user. ACL WIM version 2.0 is now available to multiple mobile

devices including SMS client, SIM Browser client, WIB based clients or Internet

connected devices.

Complying with GPRS specifications, it conforms to wireless village

specifications, thereby making inter-operator messenger interoperability a

reality. Further, it enables users to exchange text and multimedia messages in

real time with their friends, creates their personal friends lists, manage their

presence and identify their friend’s presence on the network.

ACL WIM 2.0, which interconnects with popular web based Instant Messengers,

facilitates exchange of messages and presence information across devices,

platforms and communities. Its object-based architecture separates presentation,

protocol, data access, transport layers effectively allowing exceptional

flexibility in adding new features to the running service. It is compliant with

open standards like PAM, JDO, ODMG, Wireless Village, XML, MMS, WAP and SMPP.
