TAIPEI, TAIWAN: Acer has settled all ongoing patent litigation with Hewlett-Packard (HP), the Taiwan-based PC vendor today said in a statement.
The settlement between the two PC vendors puts to rest three federal court lawsuits and two United States International Trade Commission investigations between the parties.
"As a result of the settlement agreement, each action will be dismissed as to the parties," Acer said in the statement, without specifying the terms of the settlement.
Both the firms were locked in a legal war as HP last year filed patent suits in a Texas, US court against the Taiwan-based Acer of infringing on at least 10 HP patents.
HP also sought to block Acer PC imports to the US.
Acer, in turn, approached the same court alleging HP of infringing on its antenna and DVD-ROM head technology patents.
