Acer launches 'Gemstone Blue' notebooks

BANGALORE, INDIA: Acer, the number three PC vendor in India, today launched the latest notebooks ‘Aspire Gemstone Blue’, the higher end version of the Gemstone series launched previous year.

Gemstone Blue series includes Aspire 6920 and 8920 targeted at the consumer market is bundled with new features to be an entertainment notebooks with all new ‘cine dash media console’.

Speaking to the media at the launch, WS Mukund, managing director of Acer India said, “Consumer desktops is the current focus for growth for the company. It has seen good traction in previous two quarters. Acer global expects to be $20 billion by this year-end.”

The new series is equipped with Intel Centrino Processor Technology featuring the latest Intel Core 2 Duo Processors, the mobile Intel T5550 and T7300 Express Chipset on the 2GB RAM and 3GB RAM respectively. The new notebooks integrate the second-generation Dolby Home Theatre technology.

It is build on a 16” and 18” footprint, full HD LCD screens and native 16:9 resolution.

The Aspire 6920 and 8920 with HDD of 250GB and 320GB is available for Rs 49,999 and Rs 79, 999 respectively.

Acer has currently 250 brand shops and is planning to expand it to 350 brand shops this year.
