Sujana's new facility to focus on exports markets

Having acquired stake in Telesuprecon, the towers company is setting up new facilities and increase capacity in present facilities to feed new markets

HYDERABAD, INDIA: Sujana Towers Limited, a Hyderabad-based tower manufacturer for telecom and power industries is looking to treble its turnover through new capacities and current augmentation.

It had recently announced its acquisition of 51 per cent stake in Mauritius-based Telesuprecon.

The company is aggressive in the African and Middle East markets.

To cater these markets and south India, Sujana Towers is setting up a new facility in Gummidipundi in Chennai. The plant will have a capacity of 1, 00,00 tones per annum.

The current Hyderabad facility will cater to west and central India requirements.

"There is great demand in African markets where development activity has just begun. And also in Indian in the rural sector where both power projects and telecom presence is only growing multi fold," said VSR Murthy, group director, Sujana Group of Industries.

The company aims at a larger share in both these spaces.

With a turnover of Rs. 600 crore this fiscal, the company plans to increase this to Rs. 1000 crore next fiscal thanks to the acquisitions.

There will be more acquisitions next year following due diligence, according to a senior member of company. Further details of the same were yet to be decided on, said the official.

Sujana Towers demerged from Sujana Group of Industries in 2006.
