MUMBAI, INDIA: Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Limited (TTML) announced the launch of Tata Photon Wi-Fi pocket router.
The router allows broadband Internet access speeds up to 3.1 Mbps (downlink) and 1.8 Mbps (uplink).Also Read: Tata Sky launches HD set-top-box
Tata router is supported with an in-built battery for 2.5 hours and sports a RJ45 Ethernet port for local area network (LAN) support.
Lloyd Mathias, CMO, Tata Teleservices Limited, said: “The innovative new product allows not just Internet and e-mail access, but caters to a host of other applications as well through any Wi-Fi-ready device, such as large file downloads, photographs, spreadsheets, and much more. Best of all, given its Wi-Fi capabilities, it allows multiple users to stay connected simultaneously."
The Tata Photon Wi-Fi Pocket Router will be available in four cities as of now, Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bangalore.
The device is priced at Rs. 6,500 in the open market, but is being made available at an introductory price of Rs. 4,999.
